IN MEMORY OF ROBERT L. EVANS
On January 26, 2002 my friend, fellow employee, and Search and Rescue k9 handler was
killed in a car wreck. He is greatly missed by all who knew Bob,and by his partner Jessie,
Missouri Department of Corrections Drug detection dog. And greatly missed by his human
partner Officer Mary Harris who worked with Bob for many years, not only in DOC as a k9
handler, they also were partners in Search and Rescue as dog handlers.

The above picture is of Bob and his drug dog Jessie. There was a memorial service held
for Bob on Tuesday evening January 29, 2002 and Jessie attended. Jessie was retired from
service and presented to Bob's Grandson to keep. Bob would have wanted him to have her.
Bob you are truly missed by all of us at Show-Me Search and Rescue K-9 Unit, North
Central Missouri K-9 Search and Rescue, Missouri Department of Corrections K-9 Unit,
and all the Corrections Staff you worked with throughout the state of Missouri.

Jessie was watching for you to come out after the memorial service was over, she couldn't
understand why you never came out to see her,But she was very happy to go with your Grand
son and family, but her heart will always be longing for you Bob. Bob was a Veteran serving in
the United States Air Force. Rest in peace my friend.
